Deals and the pipeline

Open a deal, move it through your stages, and close it as won or lost.

A deal belongs to a contact and has a value, an owner and an expected close date.

  • Pipeline shows open deals as cards in columns, one per stage. Drag a card to move it.
  • Deals is the same information as a list you can filter, save as a view and export.
Stages

Your stages and the chance of winning at each are set under CRM, Settings. The forecast on the Reports page uses those percentages.

Files

A contact, a deal and a company each have a Files card. Attach the contract, the brief or a photo (up to 20 MB each) and it stays with the record, with who added it and when. The person who attached a file, or a manager, can remove it.

More than one pipeline

If a different kind of sale goes through different steps, such as renewals or a second service line, add a pipeline under CRM, Settings, Pipelines. Each pipeline has its own stages, its own board and its own reports; switch between them with the tabs at the top of the Pipeline and Reports pages. You choose the pipeline when you open a deal, and can change it on the deal while it is open, which puts it at the new pipeline's first stage. A pipeline can be removed once no deals are left in it.

Closing a deal

Open the deal and mark it Won or Lost (with a reason). If your settings ask for approval above a certain value, a manager approves first. When a deal is won, your automations can start a project and raise an invoice.
