Automations: what runs for you

The rules your account starts with, how to switch them off, and how to add your own.

Automations do routine follow-up for you: when something happens, something else is done.

What is on from the start

A new account comes with a set of built-in rules for the products it has, for example:

  • after an appointment is completed, a task to follow up with the customer
  • when a customer does not turn up, a task to call and rebook
  • when a deal has had no activity for 14 days, a task to re-engage
  • when a customer accepts an estimate, the deal is won, the invoice is drafted and a project is started
  • when an invoice is 7 days overdue, an email to you
  • when an invoice is paid in full, a short thank-you email to the customer

Invoice payment reminders to customers are also on from the start; they are set under Invoicing, Products and settings.

Change them

Open More, Automations & Rules in the menu. Built-in rules are marked. Pause or delete any of them; one you delete is not put back. Further ready-made rules can be switched on with one click, and a manager can write new ones from a trigger and up to three actions.

Project Management has its own automations inside each project, under the project's Automations tab.
